The best tool does the job most efficiently with least wear and costs the lowest. This means the tool price is easily justified by high life and good quality production. Sometimes the cheapest tool is the most cost effective solution where as in some cases a tool with higher life and better quality makes more sense economically. The cost of changing out the worn parts also has a cost associated with it (machine down time = production loss) and considering it is also very important.
